Andri Pétur Hafþórsson. Icelandic name, Icelandic patronymic — Andri is fine. I'm a security engineer and systems administrator in Reykjavík, currently keeping the infrastructure standing as a sysadmin at Nova.
Fifteen years from helpdesk to infrastructure to security: Windows, Linux, macOS, DNS, backups people have actually tested, and audits that end quietly. I've carried teams through ISO 27001, TPN Gold, and ISO 42001, and I write policies in human.
On the side I run Kastro, the one-person studio behind my client websites, Kastro Labs, and a small product line. Client work is paused; the archive stays public, because proof-of-work beats a pitch deck.
Where the fifteen years went.
Retail floors, air traffic control rooms, a VFX render farm, an attack-surface platform, and a telco. Systems everywhere; the job is the same: keep them standing.
Computer science at Reykjavík University, 2019–20 — left to go run real systems instead. The audits, certifications, and production incidents have been the curriculum since.
